Bookworm

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5. Don’t you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.

I ended up with:

"Another view has, of course, been sometimes held by Christians. According to it the descent of God into Nature was not in itself occasioned by sin. It would have occurred for Glorification and Perfection even if it had not been required for Redemption."

Jesus, the Son of G-d, who alone lives in perfect communion with him, vindicates the law of the old covenant by coming to fulfill it. He was the only Man who ever fulfilled the law, and therefore he alone can teach the law and its fulfillment aright. The disciples would naturally grasp that as soon as he told them, for they knew who he was.

Honest, the nearest book.

Nathan:
What is that from? I disagree that the disciples would 'naturally grasp that.' It's pretty clear Jesus was a bit repetative with the lessons he taught his disciples. (See the Gospel of John)

Technically, my nearest book was Webster's Dictonary of Grammar.

But Lewis's Miracles was next.

It's from Bonhoeffer's Cost of Discipleship. I really probably need to branch out in my reading, I'm just on a Bonhoeffer kick lately.
